Ibn Taymmeeyah (rahimahullaah) answered:
The Raafidah revile the companions and their narrations, but the inner reality of the matter is that they desire revilement of the Messengership (itself).
In another statement, Ibn Taymeeyah (rahimahullaah) said:
For indeed the dispraising of the best of generations, those of whom accompanied the Messenger of Allaah (sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) is a dispraise of the Messenger (sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam).
